Sep 2, 2021
Swansea Marina is bursting with great businesses. From brilliant bars and restaurants to museums, galleries, hotels, and award-winning hairdressers. To help you navigate your way around, we’ve decided shared our favourite Marina hot-spots with you.
- The Swigg
Seriously cool interiors, a great outdoor area and home to the city’s best dishes. Known for its iconic loaded fries, and cocktails which are made using the venue’s in-house The Swigg Gin- this is a must-visit for any occasion, day or night.
- Gigi Gao’s Favourite Authentic Chinese
As authentic as it gets. This award-winning, family run restaurant is adored locally. It’s renowned for serving lesser-known, authentic, Northern Chinese cuisine, as well as the classic Chinese dishes we all know and love. Just look out for beautiful Chinese lanterns that adorn the trees alongside the restaurant.
Wales’ biggest indoor waterpark does not disappoint. Experience the wave machine every 20 minutes, challenge yourself to a thrilling slide or take it easy on the lazy river. There’s even a great area for toddlers so the whole family can splash around. If you’re after something drier, the LC is also home to a state-of-the-art gym, great fitness classes, a climbing wall and large soft play area.
- The Marriott
Located right on the marina and just a stone’s throw away from the beachfront, the Marriott is a great place to relax. Large, modern rooms, great views, a pool, and a hot tub for ultimate r&r. The hotel’s in-house restaurant, Cast Iron Bar & Grill is pretty special too – we’d definitely recommend the 340g sirloin steak.
- Jamie Hill Salon
Not your average hair salon. A great space, loud music, eye-catching furniture – there’s literally no way you could get bored having your hair done here. To top it off, Jamie and his team has won countless awards. They even have customers that travel 2+hours to use their services.
- Waterfront Museum
As well as being the home to Wales’ 300-year history of industry and innovation, it’s also a hub for great community and family events and exhibitions. It’s held everything from an exhibition of classic games consoles to an international wine tasting festival. It’s also home to a relaxed café and great museum shop.
