The 8 places in Swansea we’ve missed in lockdown… and can’t wait to visit from May 17
May 13, 2021

There are so many venues we’ve missed in Swansea over lockdown, from great cafes to great bars and restaurants. Here are just eightof our favourites to help you decide where to visit first from May 17.
1. Dorothy’s Show Bar
Located on Wind Street, Dorothy’s is Swansea’s very own drag bar. Oozing with style, laughs and feel-good vibes, it’s known for its fabulous Queens and great cocktails. Nothing will beat the lockdown blues more than an evening at Dorothy’s.
2. ORB Tapas and Cocktail Bar
Located on High Street, the Orb Bar is one of the city’s newest additions. You’ve probably noticed a giant ball pit in the window and you’d be right in thinking it’s an adult ball pit. We’re so excited to jump in and enjoy tapas and cocktails in this amazing venue.

3. Madeira
Home to the most deliciously authentic, Portuguese dishes, we’ve really missed Madeira in lockdown. Located on the Kingsway, it’s known for its infamous Espetadas, which are served with the skewer hung vertically from a hook, so all the flavorful juices drop down – just as you would find it in the heart of Madeira, Portugal.

4. Nines Global Buffet
We can’t wait to see a Nines live cooking station in action again. Big flames, great food and even better atmosphere. This firm, family-favourite on Castle Street is bursting at the seams with great cuisines from China, India, Japan to Italy, Span and Thailand.

5. Las Iguanas
Magharittas, caipirinhas, mojitos, quesadilla, fajita stacks – we could go on. Las Iguanas Swansea will give us the vibes we need post-lockdown. What’s even better is that this Castle Street hotspot is offering 2FOR1 cocktails all day every day, on top of bottomless cocktail brunches.

6. M-Bar Café and Restaurant
Nestled away on the first floor of the ‘Moda Collections’ designer clothes boutique on the Kingsway, M-Bar is your go-to-place to refuel during a day of shopping with friends. A brunching hot-spot, we can’t wait to experience the new menu which will be revealed on May 17.

7. The Greek Acropolis
To say we’ve missed souvlakia and gyros at The Greek Acropolis would be a complete understatement. There is nowhere quite like this and we cannot wait to get back to experiencing great, authentic Greek cuisine right in the middle of town.

8. Brewdog
The home of amazing ale, the Cluck Norris burger and unforgettable chicken wings. While we’ve enjoyed the Brewdog Swansea experience at home with their takeaways, you can’t beat an in-house Brewdog experience. It’s been a long while since we set foot into this mecca of real ale and lip-smacking good food but we’re ready for it.
