Hold on for Deer Life, as Swansea Sleighs Christmas
Nov 15, 2019

Is that the sound of jingle bells in the distance? Swansea is kicking off the festive season with a Christmas weekend extravaganza, so buckle up, wipe off that resting Grinch face, and start feeling merry!
Swansea’s magical winter experience, Waterfront Winterland, is here, and has opened its doors today, in front of the National Waterfront Museum. Visitors will find new features, such as the Alpine Bar, and ice Extreme Power, as well as old favourites, like the 33m Observation Wheel, which offers one of the most magical views in Swansea. The funfair rides are more exciting than ever, and the indoor ice rink has returned to save us all from Swansea’s unpredictable weather. Waterfront Winterland is here for you to enjoy until January 5. Book your ice-skating here.
Have you been naughty or nice this year? Santa’s Grotto returns to the City Centre on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 November, where little ones will be greeted by Santa’s Elves, before meeting Santa. See dates, times, and prices here.
This weekend comes to a close in true festive style with the Swansea Christmas Parade and Lights Switch On on Sunday November 17 . Get ready for marching bands, magical floats, festive film characters, and Christmas inflatables, as well as lights, music, snow machines, fireworks and Santa himself. The parade will start at the bottom of Wind Street at 5pm and will head up towards Castle Square. Yule be sure to have a merry old time!
Keep an eye out for a host of Christmas activities in Swansea City Centre as the festive season unfolds, from Christmas workshops in the Waterfront Museum, carol services in St Mary’s Church, and the Christmas Market on Oxford Street, which is in full swing.
Santa’s elves are busy preparing a special present from Swansea BID and Big Heart of Swansea. We’ll let you know when it’s ready to be unwrapped, so make sure you’re following us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter @BigHeartSwansea, to find out what we’ve got in store.
