Five Awesome Events in Swansea City Centre This Half-Term
Feb 13, 2020
We’ve finally made it through what feels like 100 days of January, and now the February half-term holidays have rolled around in the blink of an eye! Monday 17th – Friday 21st is a welcome break for energetic school children across the UK, but finding activities that don’t break the bank to keep them entertained can be daunting for parents. Luckily, we’ve rounded up five awesome events happening this half-term in the City Centre that everyone can enjoy!
The Waterfront Museum is celebrating their Cartwn Cymru exhibition by hosting a special session where children can create and bring to life their own Lego landscape and character, through some simple digital stop motion animation!
When: 15th and 16th February, 11am and 2pm
Price: £6.50 per child
The Glynn Vivian’s Automated Painting Workshop promises to help children let loose their inner creative genius with explosive spinning wheel paintings, collaborative catapult art and robotic drawings. Everyone will get the chance to create their own works of art to take home. Arts and crafts without the mess in your own home – what’s not to love?! Old clothes will definitely be needed though!
When: 19th February, 12pm
Who doesn’t love a girls’ night out?! We Love Little Mix features four incredible singers and dancers who really capture the look and the sound of the beloved girl group – it’s guaranteed to be the perfect mother-daughter evening in Swansea! Performing show-stopping tunes by Little Mix like Shout Out To My Ex, Black Magic and Secret Love Song, this will definitely be an evening to remember!
When: 19th February, 6pm
Cinema & Co are hosting a screening of the DreamWorks film The Prince of Egypt, with an educational workshop in collaboration with the Eqypt Centre, from Swansea University, where everyone will learn why the ancient Egyptians used to mummify people and how they did it! There is also a chance to win two West End Tickets to see the new Musical Prince of Egypt!
When: 19th February, 2pm
Children can join the rangers in Plantasia to meet baby dinosaurs and accompany them on an amazing dinosaur hunt throughout the rainforest! Session times are 10:30, 11:30, 1:30, 2:30 and 3:30, and general admission to the interactive fully immersive tropical experience is included in the ticket price.
When: 20th and 21st February, from 10:30am
Of course, there are many more brilliant things happening in the City Centre this half-term! Swansea’s fantastic range of shops, entertainment, and food and drink spots mean that there is always plenty to do and see. Don’t forget our fantastic new parking offer in St David’s multi-story car park, where it’s just £1 for three hours! Park and Ride is just £1 after 9:30am Monday – Friday (cash only) and, as always, it’s FREE to park every Sunday at all City Centre Council car parks.
